ANTHONY FERNANDEZ
Anthony Fernandez has been active in design for over 35 years, from his beginnings in architecture in the late 1980’s as a recent graduated of the USC School of Architecture, to his immersion into interior design under design impresario Barbara Barry soon thereafter, and beyond. His development as a designer of fine furniture began in the 1990’s with his involvement with Los Angeles based furniture manufacturer City Studio as design director, a position that culminated in the creation of City Studio’s Modernist Collection of original furniture and lighting inspired by the 1940’s American Luxe Modernism of designers like Samuel Marx and Paul Laszlo. The Modernist Collection received the first ever AIA/LA award for furniture design in 1997. Starting in the 2010’s, Fernandez’ design work focused on the renovation and interior design of mid-20th c. architectural properties both on the West Coast as well as New York City. He is very excited to collaborate with House of Pontovi and looks forward to creating amazing projects together.
